Blog #3 - April 15th, 2016

This is the first blog of 2016. We must be the worst bloggers ever. We have been
busy uniting our couples in marital island bliss!

We just had an amazing couple from Massachusetts get married in Hawksnest Bay off in the waters of St. John, US Virgin Islands. After the ceremony they jumped overboard in full wedding attire! What an amazing day! After the wedding they and their 12 guests spent the rest of the day sailing, snorkeling, chilling, feasting, and playing island style. Congrats!

Welcome to Island Wedding Services in beautiful St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands! If it seems that we're a bit late getting our blog started, please remember that we are on island time. It’s hard to describe what island time actually is, but when you come down here to St. Thomas, you’ll immediately feel it and know it. Time meanders along and your stress level decreases here in the tropics. Your aging process is slowed in exact proportion to the number of days you spend here! Some blame it on the rum.

During the past decade our staff at Island Wedding Services have enjoyed the trust and gratitude of many, many —thousands, in fact — happy couples who opted out of the big-bucks, stress-filled mainland weddings with all the expensive trimmings and relied on us for that one special memory: a tropical wedding where the honeymoon begins right before the ceremony.

We’ve been proud to receive many testimonials, and you can’t make up that stuff, mon! (“Mon” is island slang, and when you hear it for the first time, you’ll know you’re really in the islands.)

So now that we have our first blog on the record, we’ll be adding to it weekly with bits and pieces about this and that. Our goal is to continue making that song “Don’t worry, be happy” a reality for couples who want to start their lives together on island time.

We also like being informative and interesting. For example, did you know that Christopher Columbus “discovered” St. Thomas in 1493 during his second voyage to the New World? He wasn’t all that impressed and decided to head west toward Puerto Rico. Our beautiful island quickly became the home to — arrrh! — pirates!

If you’re into the pirate thing, we can do a pirate-themed ceremony for you. Just leave your wristwatch behind. We’re on island time down here.
Thanks for visiting our blog. Please contact us and we’ll tell you everything you need to know about our full array of services for your island wedding ... And don't worry, be happy!

Blog #2 - sometime in 2015
It is very apparent that we are horrible bloggers! Maybe it's the lure of the sunshine and palm trees that keeps us from the computer! So far 2015 has been fun and exciting. We are adding kayak weddings and scuba / snuba weddings for the eco adventuresome couples. We now have a wellness professional joining our team who has services ranging from massages on the beach or in your room to yoga sessions and reflexology. We are also in the process of looking for the perfect accommodations for you and your guests. Everything from casual Caribbean resorts, Full Amenity Spa resorts, to that perfect villa hideaway.

We have also added a new Wedding Planner in Paradise, Mary Kay, to our team. Welcome Mary Kay! Maybe she can help us with more frequent blogging! In any case 2014 was a great year with so many wonderful weddings . Looking forward to what the rest of 2015 brings.

St. Thomas Love
